Giving Thanks

Filed under: Update — admin @ 11:55 am

I just wanted to post a short note to let you know how I am and, of course, to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. You are the people that I am thankful for this year. Thank you for your friendship, your encouragement, and your prayers this year; I have been truly blessed by them.

I am still at my brother’s house in Minnesota. I’ve been working part-time at a nearby Barnes and Noble to make ends meet while I continue to wait for my visa to be processed. It has been a long and, at times, a frustrating wait, but, apparently, the Network of International Christian Schools is optimistic that the visas will indeed be going through soon and I’ve been back on the phone with the Consulate. I’ve been telling people that January might be my limit, and it is now looking like January is a definite possibility. Praise God!

I wanted to include a brief word for those of you who have made financial commitments to assist me in my ministry in Brazil. None of the money that has been received by NICS has yet been touched by me; NICS has been holding it faithfully in the knowledge that it will be needed when I get to Brazil. Thank you for your support and partnership. Know that all funds will be used appropriately and to God’s glory when I finally go to Brazil.

Please pray for my physical health (I’ve had a particularly nasty cold for the past week) and please continue to pray for the processing of my and my colleagues’ visas.

With my love and prayers,

Amy

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. I always pray for you, and I make my requests with a heart full of joy because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am sure that God, who began a good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.    Philippians 1: 3 – 6
